After a thrilling finale, the winner of Traitors has been finally announced.
Claudia Winkleman’s blockbuster murder mystery gameshow has unfortunately ended its second season, but over the previous 12 episodes, she’s given more iconic jumpers, Bafta-worthy moments, and searing betrayals than we could have ever dreamed for.
Following the expulsion of initial Traitors Paul Gorton, Ash Bibi, and Miles Asteri, Harry Clark recruited (and later betrayed) Ross Carson and Andrew Jenkins.
In total, 17 participants were’murdered’ or ‘banished’, leaving only five in the final episode: Harry, Andrew, Faithfuls Mollie Pearce, Evie Morrison, and Jaz Singh.
And now we have our official winner, who received a sum of £95,150.
After the most intense episode yet, Harry was declared winner of The Traitors after making it to the final two and revealing that he was not a Faithful.
He was able to eliminate the other participants one by one and persuade the last remaining Faithful that he was on her side.
‘You played the game of your life,’ Claudia told him.
The last episode opened with the remaining five players attempting to add another £20,000 to their prize fund with a task that included abseiling, clambering through caverns and underwater, a helicopter trip, and even vomiting up overboard.
Then came the roundtable. For the last time, the candidates pointed fingers at each other, attempting to determine who was truly a Traitor.
Jaz eventually aired his doubts, mentioning Harry from a prior talk with Paul.
However, it was Evie who was finally banished, wishing her opponents ‘good luck’ after revealing she was, in fact, a Faithful.
As Claudia revealed the final amount of money up for grabs, the four surviving contestants voted for either another exile or the belief that they were all Faithful.
Ultimately, Molly, Harry, and Jaz voted Andrew out of the game.
‘I’m quite surprised I got this far,’ he said, saying he had ‘no hard feelings’ for Harry.
‘It’s been a weight off my shoulders to be honest, I can go back to being me.’
For the last time, the surviving three had the option of ending the game or banishing another player, with Mollie assuming that Jaz and Harry were both Faithfuls.
While the latter agreed to stop the game, Jaz couldn’t shake his suspicions and selected a last exile.
‘The only person I’m confident to stand with is Mollie,’ he explained, before voting Harry out.
Mollie, however, was visibly disturbed at having to put only one person forward, changing her mind several times before ‘locking in’ her vote and banishing Jaz.
With only two players left, the game was done, and Mollie had inadvertently sealed her destiny as Harry took home the prize pot alone.
‘I need to win her trust back,’ Harry said, as Mollie left the roundtable room in tears, before going on to celebrate his huge win.
He said: ‘I feel like I can breathe, cause I am me again, I am Harry again… I underestimated this massively, you come here and there is 22 amazing people, and from the off I have been a Traitor, I’ve had enough of being naughty and being bad because that was next level.’
Ahead of the last episode, Harry, the only Traitor to survive from the first to the final without being identified, said: ‘I really feel mind-blown, to be honest, I think I’ve done everything I could right.
‘I couldn’t have done anything else to get here but also it has been a bit of luck as well.’
The 22-year-old continued: ‘I couldn’t be more thankful to the other players around me but especially the traitors, just because the way they’ve played the game has allowed me to get to where I am.
‘For example, (banished traitors) Ash, Miles, and Paul, all of them could have tried bringing me down with them and the ship.
‘I can’t say I would have been too happy if someone was coming at me who I knew was supposed to be on my team. So I’m just lost for words, really. I just can’t believe it.’
Last season, Alyssa Chan, Amanda Lovett, and newly appointed Traitor Kieran Tompsett were eliminated, while Wilfred Webster made it to the final.
The Faithfuls, which included Aaron Evans, Meryl Williams, and Hannah Byczkowski, received the £101,050 award.
The show, based on the Dutch version De Verraders, won two Bafta TV prizes. However, there is some good news for fans of the show.
Applications for the third series are now open for individuals who want to show themselves in the game.
For the rest of us, more treachery is on the way, with a fresh new series debuting on iPlayer tonight.
The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
