After making a major impression in season two of The Traitors, one prominent star from the BBC reality series might be joining the Celebrity major Brother cast.
He may have missed out on the prize by an inch, but Jaz Singh was the buzz of social media before his dramatic exit for being a great detective, earning him the moniker ‘Jazatha Christie’.
Following multiple near calls to apprehend the Traitors, he was voted out by Mollie Pearce and Harry Clark, allowing Harry to swoop in and steal the £95,000 reward money.
After leaving the programme, Jaz, 30, confessed that it ‘hurt’ to be voted out so close to the finish, but stated that he was ‘grateful’ for the chance to share his tale, particularly given his previous family difficulties.
‘It’s given people encouragement to come forward,’ he said regarding the story he told on The Traitors about finding out his dad had a second family. ‘[People] come to me to say, “Thank you for making us feel not alone.”‘
His first move after The Traitors looks to be Celebrity Big Brother, with fans eager for TV’s new favourite detective to enter the relaunched series.
On X, user Armand said, ‘Bring Jaz back on TV — Big Brother, Survivor, The Challenge. Guy’s got the instinct of a lone wolf,’ while another viewer, Jazzy, said simply: ‘Get Jazz on Big Brother.’
Jaz, a Manchester-based national account manager, currently has a 2/1 chance of appearing on the revived ITV show. He now appears in ITV’s reality show I’m A Celebrity on 3/1.
If Jaz decides to stay with the BBC, he might audition for Strictly Come Dancing (4/1) or Celebrity MasterChef (6/1).
The next Celebrity Big Brother series will premiere in March 2024, following the success of ITV’s reboot in 2023, which was won by participant Jordan Sangha, who lasted 42 days in the house before leaving with the prize.
Fans of The Traitors are clamouring for Diane to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house, and ITV has acknowledged how many people want to see more of her.
However, she told The Daily Star: ‘Celebrity Big Brother is not happening because, sadly, if I met characters that really rubbed me up the wrong way I wouldn’t be quiet so I don’t think that would be a good idea.’
Meanwhile, Harry and Mollie, the final two survivors of The Traitors, are expected to compete on I’m A Celebrity and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins within the next year.
The Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
