Joel Dommett was left shirtless and flustered on today’s Lorraine – after accidentally sleeping through his interview time.
The Masked Singer host was called out live on air by Ranvir Singh, who’s filling in for Lorraine, and Andi Peters, after the production team failed to get through to him.
Thankfully, Andi proved his perseverance and phoned him, only to get no answer.
He eventually managed to get through to a hazy sounding Joel, who revealed he was still in bed as he ‘thought it was later’.
‘Joel? You’re live on ITV Joel, please do not swear!,’ Andi joked.
‘Well this is very exciting, isn’t it?’ Joel responded.
‘You were meant to be on Lorraine this morning,’ Andi then told him. ‘Have you forgotten?!’
A shocked Joel then told him. ‘Huh? I thought it was later than this!’
‘Nope, it’s about now, so I’m going to put the phone down, and ITV are going to phone you because you’re meant to be on the show,’ the competition host told the missing guest.
‘But you’re making great telly for me Joel, thank you for answering!’
Ranvir looked baffled at the moment, and told him: ‘Unbelievable! Andi, since you’ve got a hotline to God, clearly…I can’t believe that!’
After managing to get on to Zoom, the half-asleep Joel appeared shirtless after literally jumping straight to the computer – and was clearly hazed about it all.
Blaming being on ‘Christmas mode’, Joel refused to put a shirt on and said he was ‘staying that way until the new year’ – which we don’t blame him for at all.
Ranvir couldn’t resist telling him she didn’t mind seeing him shirtless, saying the production team were also happy about it.
Joel then apologised and admitted he had got the show confused with Loose Women, which airs at 12.30pm every day.
The star was appearing on the show to talk about the new series of The Masked Singer, as it returns on Boxing Day.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
