The Mandalorian has only just introduced Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano – but now she’s heading off on her own adventure in the latest Star Wars spin-off.
Ahsoka is the newest live-action series to be added to the Star Wars universe, and will be launching on Disney Plus in 2022.
The team behind the show made the announcement as part of the annual Investor Day call from Disney, which also included a large number of Marvel announcements.
Ahsoka was introduced in The Mandalorian last week, even finally revealing the long-held secret name of Baby Yoda (it’s Grogu).
Details on what is happening to the character is being kept tightly under wraps, but it’s been confirmed the series will take place after the events of Star Wars: Rebels, the video game the character first appeared in.
Through this mystery time period after Rebels and before her time on The Mandalorian, we’re also set to learn more about the Jedi Order.
Finally, we know that the events of Ahsoka will eventually intertwine with another announced Star Wars spin-off, Rangers Of The New Republic.
Mandalorian creator and executive producer Dave Filoni will take the reins on the formation of this series.
On top of this announcement, it was revealed that The Mandalorian season three is firmly on the way, and will launch at the end of next year, in time for Christmas once again.
Ahsoka will air on Disney Plus in 2022.
