You probably never thought you’d catch The Simpsons on The Chase… well, think again.
An incredible line-up for tonight’s show included contestants with the best names, and viewers are obsessed.
Once in a blue moon, there seems to be a theme with the contestants’ four names, and this time it was the famous animated series.
The players on tonight’s Chase were Marge, Bart, Maggie and Lisa, and we’re convinced producers did that on purpose.
Naturally, fans of the much-loved ITV quiz show took to Twitter to check they weren’t the only one picking up on the gag.
Social media users were left in hysterics as they praised makers of the Bradley Walsh-fronted show for their casting.
Sharing pictures of their TV screens, viewers even asked where Homer was in a bid to complete the family.
‘Give the producers for #TheChase a raise,’ wrote one fan.
Another added: ‘This must have been done on purpose!’
‘#TheChase proves that UK television is of the highest quality, unlike any other,’ tweeted one viewer.
One fan said ‘it’s been a while since we had a line-up that makes sense,’ referring to previous sets of hopefuls whose names all had something in common.
Iconic examples include Gerry, Emma, Mel and Victoria (as in the Spice Girls) completing one line-up.
A previous show also starred Rachael, Ross, Phoebe and Joe, with viewers making the connection to sitcom Friends.
Sadly, Bart didn’t make it through to the final chase, leaving Marge, Maggie and Lisa to battle it out against the Chaser for the prize.
Their knowledge was well and truly tested by Chaser Darragh Ennis as they hoped to split their £18,000 jackpot.
The famous family earned an impressive 20 correct answers in the final round, which The Menace referred to as ‘pretty much perfect.’
However, the Chaser was on top form tonight and defeated the team after three failed attempts at push-back.
The Chase continues weekdays on ITV.
