Viewers of The Apprentice allege that a teaser film revealed the winner of the 2023 season.
Following an all-female finale on Thursday night, boxing club owner Marnie Swindells, 28, was chosen as Lord Alan Sugar’s latest business partner, defeating Rochelle Anthony, 35, to the £250,000 investment.
However, several viewers said they were not surprised by Marnie’s triumph since a preview of the broadcast ‘ruined’ the outcome.
On March 17, a video posted on Lord Sugar’s Twitter account gave a sneak peek at the series’ last episode before it aired.
The 50-second teaser concluded with the mogul pointing to the winner and declaring, “You are going to be my business partner.”
Disgruntled spectators stated that it was ‘obvious’ who would win.
Taking to the social media platform, one said: ‘Why show the finger at the end? It’s clearly whoever is sat on the left.’
‘Marnie wins it? She’s sat to the left of Lord Sugar and he points to the winner with his left hand,’ said another.
Meanwhile, some supporters were confident Marnie would win because of her gym’s advertising.
Writing on Twitter, one posted: ‘I knew Marnie had won #TheApprentice weeks ago cos there were posters all over Camberwell for her gym. Bit of a spoiler!’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another said: ‘#TheApprentice SPOILER! MARNIE WINS 🥊🥊 Look at hers and Rochelle’s Instagram, Marnie’s business ‘Bronx’ boxing clearly took that £250k injection!’
Marnie was over the moon after learning of her win and exclaimed: ‘What an incredible opportunity and moment for a girl like me to get to a place like this and have become Lord Sugar’s business partner.
‘It feels strange to even say that, but I’m not going to stop saying it because I am so happy.’
The Apprentice series 17 is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
