Ryan-Mark Parsons of The Apprentice has provoked uproar after voicing his harsh opinion on buskers.
The Celebs Go Dating star, 23, appeared on Thursday’s Good Morning Britain, when he took aim at street musicians and debated whether they should be banned.
The debate erupted after Westminster Council disclosed that it had over 5,000 complaints about buskers’ loudness between April 2021 and May 2023.
Ryan-Mark advocated for an outright ban, calling street entertainers “noisy, disruptive, and degrading” and advocating for more oversight.
However, his comments were met with vehement pushback by hosts Ranvir Singh and Ben Shephard, with the latter claiming that buskers are merely ‘honing their trade.’
The 48-year-old went on to say that A-list singers like Ed Sheeran got their start by performing in the street, and that it was an important step on their path to popularity.
Ryan-Mark, however, retorted: ‘They can go to TikTok.’
Ryan-Mark was chastised by ITV viewers for moaning about buskers on X, with some calling him a “sad little guy.”
‘Most of the buskers I’ve listened to are more talented than many of todays’ artists & drivel that passes for music, giving money is optional, not begging, what a killjoy this bloke is #gmb,’ one argued.
Another raged: ‘So music is now bad is it? Who is this absolute idiot on #GMB busking is a way for artists to get their music out there. Without buskers the likes of Ed Sheeran’s wouldn’t be out in the world.’

Ryan-Mark stated that he was’scarred for life’ after an encounter with a busker in London’s Leicester Square.
Despite claiming to ‘detest’ street performers, Ryan-Mark was upset when a busker requested for a payment since he was photographing them for social media usage.
Ryan-Mark was taken aback by the suggestion, and Ranvir said, ‘I agree.’
Ben also commented: ‘That sounds fair.’
However, Ryan-Mark wasn’t having any of it, calling the incident ‘glorified begging’, which caused Ranvir to audibly gasp.
They were also joined by busker Ky Lewis, who stated that buskers “never ask” for money and that donations are a “choice,” as he emphasised the necessity of performing in front of live audiences for up-and-coming musicians.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
