Dianne Buswell fought back tears as she revealed the cause for her dramatic outburst on Strictly Come Dancing last week.
The 34-year-old professional dancer joined the BBC dancing series in 2017, previously teamed with prominent names like as now-partner Joe Sugg, Max George, and Tyler West.
This season, she’s been pitted against EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier, 20.
However, during last Saturday night’s episode, Dianne raised eyebrows when she grew extremely tearful following their dance, before thanking Bobby for his support and referring to him as her “rock.”
Now she’s gone into depth about what’s been going on in her personal life and how it’s motivated her to keep going in the competition.
Dianne revealed in a Q&A on her YouTube channel that she had gotten several messages from fans wondering whether she was okay after seeing her seem sad on the show.
‘I thought I would be very upfront and honest with you all. Last week I got some news about my dad’s health and I won’t go into detail, but obviously that affected me,’ she shared.
‘Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that.
While Dianne’s family had planned to go to the UK for Christmas to see her on Strictly, she announced that she would instead be returning to Australia at the end of the year.
‘There is a little road ahead for my dad but I believe 100% he is going to be fine and we are all going to get through it together,’ she continued.
She then asked fans to give her dad ‘a little thought or prayer’, which she would ‘greatly appreciate’.
‘My dad is the sweetest, kindest man you will ever meet and the one thing he really wants is for me to keep going and to keep dancing my little heart out and doing what I love because that makes him the absolute proudest,’ she said.
As she started to tear up, Dianne said she was going to try her best to do an ‘amazing job every single week’.
‘Regardless if I go home with a glitterball or not I will still go home and have a hot Christmas,’ she added.

She uploaded a snapshot of a text he wrote her before she entered the stage last week on social media before of her performance.
It read: ‘To my dearest lovely Dianne. I wish you all the best of luck for tonight’s concert, hope you and Bobby have a great dance tonight if Craig give you an 8 you are bound to get top 37 tonight. Love you more. Daddy.’
Replying to her post, dance partner Bobby wrote: ‘Gonna put on a concert for dadda b tonight.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
