Piers Morgan could make Strictly Come Dancing history in the future as part of the competition’s first male same-sex couple.
Ranvir Singh revealed that her dance partner Giovanni Pernice would love to team up with Piers as the first all male duo to take part in the series.
No doubt Giovanni was inspired by Nicola Adams and Katya Jones who became Strictly’s first same-sex couple. They were unfortunately forced to exit the series last month when Katya tested positive for coronavirus.
Piers reminded Ranvir of Giovanni’s offer and told his Good Morning Britain co-host: ‘You said Giovanni said he’d rather be dancing with me.’
Ranvir then confirmed: ‘He did! He said he would like to be in the first all-male same-sex couple with Piers.’
The TV presenter seemed more than happy to take Giovanni up on his offer and nodded as Ranvir delivered the news.
Susanna Reid was intrigued to find out what that would look like and admitted: ‘Those lifts would be interesting,’ with raised eyebrows.
Apparently, Giovanni also predicted that he could ‘break [Piers] in one day,’ to which the presenter hit back: ‘I would break you in one year.’
Maybe they’d be better off apart than together…
Earlier in the week, Ranvir was pressed on the romance rumours surrounding her and Giovanni after they were pictured linking arms.
Piers Morgan couldn’t wait to press Ranvir on the photos and said: ‘Let the record show I’ve asked you about the paparazzi hand-holding pictures and there’s been no denial. No denial, just a “I don’t read my press”.’
He added: ‘I’m a great expert in all things sizzling romance as you know. I’m just looking at the imagery on the show, I’m looking at the pap pictures quietly and I’m doing the maths and I’m reaching a 2+2 equals four.’
Ranvir, who appeared via video link, laughed it off and replied: ‘That’s hilarious, I think you should stick to words, you’re very good with words.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
