A Coronation Street star is apparently switching the Weatherfield cobbles for the ballroom floor of Strictly Come Dancing.
Ellie Leach, 22, who played Faye Windass in the ITV serial from 2011 until 2023, is said to be the newest celebrity to compete for the Glitterball Trophy later this year.
After leaving the long-running show and parting from lover Reagan Pettman, the A Boy Called Dad actress is reported to be ready to start a new chapter on the BBC behemoth.
An insider said: ‘This could be just the tonic for Ellie, who’s had some huge life changes this year and could do with something fresh to focus on.
‘As well as splitting from Reagan she left Corrie, a show which she effectively grew up on as she joined the cast when she was just a child.
They continued to The Sun: ‘It’s going to take some adjusting to, but Strictly is part of opening up a new chapter for Ellie.’
The publican reports that Ellie, the cousin of Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent, 31, is expected to accompany her soap star relatives to the live concerts.
Ellie is one among several figures speculated to be joining the Strictly 2023 lineup, including fellow EastEnders icon Nigel Harman and Angela Rippon, 78.
Zara McDermott of Love Island has also been rumoured as a possible addition to this year’s version of Strictly, making her the first islander to appear on the competition.
Last year, wildlife camera operator Hamza Yassin and his professional dancing partner Jowita Przystal won Strictly.
He had competed on the dancefloor with Fleur East and Vito Coppola, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, and Helen Skelton and Gorka Marque before winning the finals.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
