Strictly Come Dancing’s schedule has been given a refresh next weekend to accommodate the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
The remaining celebrities will compete in a musicals special when the BBC One programme returns on Friday, December 2 at 8pm, one day earlier than usual.
The results show will also air early, with the revamped episode set to take place on Saturday, December 3 at 5.40pm.
Presenter Tess Daly confirmed the revised time and date at the end of Sunday’s results show.
‘Yes, you heard right! Friday,’ she told audiences.
Of course, Strictly Come Dancing usually airs on Saturday night, however, it has been pushed forward to make room for the international tournament, which will see Group C winners take on Group D winners.
The World Cup kicked off last Sunday (November 20) with the BBC and ITV sharing coverage in the UK.
Every match will be shown live on TV, with fans also able to watch the action on BBC iPlayer and the ITVX app.
For fans in Wales, S4C will be showing Welsh language coverage of every Wales match during the tournament. The matches will be televised on S4C across the UK, and online on the S4C Clic player and BBC iPlayer.
It’s not just Strictly that has been impacted by the beautiful game though, as ITV shows Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women have also been pushed aside.
Strictly Come Dancing will air on Friday at 8pm on BBC One.
