One of the stars of Stranger Things has revealed her ambition to appear on Celebrity Bake Off, telling Cosmopolitan UK she’d be ‘keen’ to appear as she finds the show ‘soothes the soul’.
Later this month, the Netflix series is set to return, as viewers are reunited with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and the rest of the gang in season 4 volume 1.
One of the fan-favourite returning characters is Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), Mike’s older sister who’s proven herself as a strong fighter when going up against the evil forces lurking in the Upside Down.
During a new interview, the 27-year-old admitted that she ‘loves scones and tiny sandwiches’ as she admitted that when she grew up, she believed that ‘high tea was tea time that happened every day’.
Speaking to the publication, she said: ‘I always romanticised it, so every time I go to England, I have to get it,’ before expressing how great a fan she is of The Great British Bake Off.
‘And I love The Great British Bake Off. It’s such a pleasant thing to watch, something about it just soothes the soul.’
Having watched some of the celebrity version of the show, Natalia put herself forward as a possible candidate on the Channel 4 programme in future.
‘I’ve seen some clips of the celebrity one, which I think is so funny. If they let Americans on… I’m keen.’
We’ve had a Derry Girls cast special of Celebrity Bake Off… so why not Stranger Things?
Speaking about the upcoming episodes of Stranger Things, Natalia promised that it’s ‘darker, scarier and more intense’ than ever before.
She stars on the show with her on-screen love interest and real-life boyfriend Charlie Heaton, who plays Jonathan Byers, the older brother of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), whose disappearance in season one set off an intriguing and mysterious chain of events.
Addressing the interest that people have in their relationship, Natalia questioned why ‘people want to know about it’, before acknowledging that it’s ‘a natural instinct to want to know more about the people who are on your screens for hours’.
‘Now that I’ve experienced the other side of it… It sounds so cliché, but I’m just a person, too,’ she said.
‘Some people are very good about being open and sharing, and other people feel a little more comfortable holding some things for themselves.’
The June/July issue of Cosmopolitan UK is on sale from Tuesday May 10.
Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 drops on Netflix on Friday May 27.
