Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt couldn’t stop gushing about his daughter as he halted the show for a special ‘proud parent’ moment.
The 49-year-old became upset on TV after revealing the text from his daughter.
‘Thanks for that Marcus, that was all well and good,’ Matt said as he was caught holding his phone.
‘I enjoyed your Eton Mess, but to be honest, I just received a text from my daughter.
‘Proud parent moment: daughter received a First in university!’
Matt, who has a daughter named Jessie and a son named Henry with his wife Lisa, was obviously moved when the room erupted in applause.
Guests such as Strictly Come Dancing‘s Anita Rani congratulated her, and Matt added, ‘So well done Jess, congrats!’
‘Sorry about taking over TV for my own personal gain, right let’s get back to the script.’
Matt has hosted the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen for 10 years since replacing James Martin, while he also fronts Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped.
While he normally keeps his personal life private, the TV chef disclosed last year that he had emergency surgery to have his appendix removed.

Matt told his followers: ‘Me, a morphine drip and an emergency appendectomy are keeping me from a much anticipated lunch at @manteca_london with @ollysmith @sarah10016 @hardiegrantuk ….but everything and everyone here at The Grange hospital in Gwent have been fantastic.’
