Saturday Kitchen fans and guests both burst out laughing when Alison Roman fell off a stool – and this was before the wine tasting had started.
The guest chef went on Matt Tebutt’s show and was prepping for Helen McGinn’s wine section when she sat down on what she mistook was a chair.
When Alison, an American food journalist, tried to sit down, she utterly missed and landed on the floor with her sweets.
Helen was attempting to mix rosé wine with cake when she heard a crash in the studio.
‘Are you okay?’ ‘Did you just sit on the wine table?!’ questioned guest star Nina Wadia as Matt inquired.
‘I did,’ Alison responded, as they all burst out laughing.
‘We didn’t do that in rehearsal!’ she joked, confirming she’s okay.
‘Give her a drink quick!’ Matt added.
‘First things first, I’m going to pour you a massive glass of sparkling wine,’ Helen said.
Matt then replied: ‘That’s what we do in a crisis, we either drink tea or we crack open some wine.’
‘But it’s alright, nobody saw.’
But viewers did, with many turning to Twitter to comment on the amusing scene.
One person wrote: ‘There should be a public inquiry if @SaturdayKitchen doesn’t receive a BAFTA for today’s episode alone.
‘As someone who has worked on cookery shows, this is what live TV is all about – well done for getting on with it! #ShowMustGoOn #SaturdayKitchen’.
‘It’s ok, nobody noticed,’ another joked, while someone else wrote: ‘Alison Roman hope you’re ok but it was so funny’.
‘Absolute chaos this morning on #SaturdayKitchen. This is what we tune in for (and the great food and wine),’ another penned.
Someone else commented: ‘@SaturdayKitchen this is the best episode ever. Hysterical’.
Saturday Kitchen airs at 10am on BBC One.
