Sarah Millican left Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield horrified as she revealed she had to keep her dog’s poo in the fridge when he fell ill during lockdown.
The South Shields comedian appeared on This Morning and revealed the disgusting lengths she had to go to when her puppy fell sick while the vet’s weren’t open for normal visits.
As a result, her and her husband Gary Delaney had to go to grim lengths to get the pup the help it needed.
‘We’ve got a little dog and he’s adorable but sometimes he has a bad tummy,’ she explained.
‘Normally you go to the vet, you’d have an appointment, you get a little sample pot that you have to fill in.
‘This time we rang the vet, and he said, “use a tub from home”. So we had to find the tub in the kitchen with a lid that matched, which is, as you know, quite tricky anyway. Then had to fill that over the course of a few days.’
Revealing the pair kept it in the vegetable crisper ‘as it was always empty’, Phillip covered his mouth in horror as they laughed through the disgusting mission.
But it got worse!
‘We took it to the vet but we didn’t want to go during opening hours because we didn’t want to mix with people,’ she said. ‘So we went at one in the morning, brilliant idea, forgot that there was a massive fence and a gate that would be locked. So we had to throw it over the fence!’
‘The only tub we could find that had a matching lid that clicked safely because had to go in the fridge for a few days… written on the top “chicken casserole for Sarah”.
‘Clearly it had been in the freezer at some point. If somebody found it called Sarah… Oh, what a lovely delivery!’
Suddenly we’ve been put right off our lunch… but thankfully the dog was OK!
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
