Ruth Langsford has lavished praise on Amanda Holden as the Britain’s Got Talent judge’s rivalry with Phillip Schofield continues.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge appears to have taken veiled jabs at Schofield on social media following his departure from This Morning and then ITV after admitting to having an affair with a younger runner.
But their feud began long before Schofield’s shocking confession, with Amanda, 53, previously listed the former Dancing On Ice judge as one of the things she would never want to discover in her house, alongside spiders and flies.
Amanda’s most recent Instagram post included a photo of herself standing on a red carpet in a glamorous white gown.
Women on the Run Ruth, whose husband Eamonn Holmes has been open about his distaste for Schofield, labelling him a ‘narcissist,’ complemented Amanda on her appearance.
‘LOVE! Goddess,’ she wrote, adding the fire emoji.
While Eamonn has talked extensively about the controversy and This Morning, Ruth, who co-hosted the programme with him until leaving in 2020, has yet to address the uproar.
Meanwhile, Amanda and Schofield’s dispute was supposed to have started in 2018, when he was accused of sabotaging her prospects of co-hosting This Morning with him when his normal co-host Holly Willoughby was in Australia filming I’m A Celebrity.
According to a former daytime TV producer, Schofield persuaded ITV executives to choose Rochelle Humes over her, and Amanda ‘awkwardly approached’ him about the snub thereafter.
Schofield was quick to respond to the rumour at the time, tweeting: ‘The end of another really sad weekend. When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless “sources”.
‘Obviously I’ll take it on the chin..I just hope you know me better.’
An official ITV spokesperson also rubbished the claims: ‘Presenter line-ups on This Morning change regularly. Final decisions are made by producers, not presenters.
In a recently discovered video, Amanda was asked about her quarrel with Schofield and whether there were any intentions to reconcile.
‘I’ve moved on from it, Jamie, you need to move on from it,’ she told her Heart co-star Jamie Theakston.
‘I did offer to meet him for a coffee months ago, he didn’t reply to my text. What can I say?’
Following Schofield’s This Morning exit, Amanda shared what could probably only be described as the least subtle dig.
Amanda moved to Instagram shortly after Schofield’s comments to upload a simple photograph of the flexed bicep emoji on a black backdrop.
Although the sign is evidently regularly used to celebrate or express triumph, the post had no caption.
When Schofield admitted to the affair, Amanda appeared to take another shot at him on social media, tweeting a photo of a huge drink with the remark, ‘Happy Saturday.’
