Rita Ora‘s estimate on The Masked Singer was so ludicrous that it was removed from showing.
Host Joel Dommett, 38, stated Rita, 33, mistakenly believed boxing hero Muhammad Ali was making his first public appearance since dying in 2016 on the ITV show, singing behind a costume.
Spoiler alert: he wasn’t.
‘This is a classic Rita Ora. Think it might have been the first series, might have been the second but someone was on, I can’t remember who, and she genuinely – and there was no joke behind this – this was her serious guess, she thought it was Muhammad Ali,’ Joel revealed on the Chris Moyles Radio X show.
Naturally, the Radio X studio burst with laughter, but Joel verified that it had to be cut from the show.
‘I love her so much. I think it had to be cut from the show for various reasons,’ he said.
Rita will be missing for many weeks during the current season of The Masked Singer, and will be replaced by a variety of guests.
However, people have hypothesised that she is the voice of one of this year’s competitors, Maypole.
Her co-judge Mo Gilligan, 35, was the first to propose the hypothesis, but he isn’t the only one who recognises the RIP singer’s voice.
However, the clues don’t fit up, so Cheryl, Anne-Marie, and former Prime Minister Theresa May are also involved.
Of course, we hope it’s Theresa.
So far, music superstar Dionne Warwick has been revealed as Weather, Alexander Armstrong as the voice of Chicken Caeser, and Shirley Ballas as Rat behind the suit.
The Masked Singer continues Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
