Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has disclosed that he met with Clarkson’s Farm actor Kaleb Cooper ‘to compare haircuts,’ among other things, in an unexpected crossover.
In a series of photos taken during the Farm to Fork Summit, the 24-year-old farmer was seen smiling with the Conservative Party Leader.
Sharing the pictures on Instagram, Mr Sunak wrote: ‘Farming isn’t just a job. It’s a way of life.
‘And it doesn’t matter how young you are, there’s a role for you in farming.
‘Anyone can do it.’
He continued: ‘And farming businesses really thrive from having young entrepreneurial spirit.
‘Enjoyed meeting at 10 Downing Street today to discuss how to get more young people into farming… and compare hairstyles.’
In one photo, the two were sitting on Farm to Fork bales, deep in conversation, while others showed them laughing.
Kaleb sprang to prominence on Jeremy Clarkson’s Prime Video agricultural show, Diddly Squat, where he advised the former Top Gear host on how to handle his farm.
He has previously stated that the cost-of-living problem has been ‘extremely terrible’ for farmers.
Kaleb previously shared: ‘I think farmers are going to, either way, get through this and I hope they do it together, but it’s an incredibly hard industry that we’re in with everything going up in price.
‘Diesel, for example, was 32 pence per litre last year. It’s now £1.20.
And as a contractor, I can’t really put my prices up because the farmers go, “Christ, I can’t really afford it.”‘
He continued to the PA news agency: ‘In the farming world, the person at the top is the farmer and he often has no better.
‘So therefore, in the industry, it’s incredibly hard. But I like doing it, so what else would I do?’
Clarkson’s Farm is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
