Speculation regarding Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby‘s future as Dancing On Ice presenters is intensifying, and a television couple is rumoured to replace them.
Reports of a ‘feud’ between Phillip, 61, and Holly, 42, who have hosted Dancing On Ice since 2006, have cast doubt on their TV futures.
The rumoured feud has impacted Phillip, who departed This Morning last week after twenty years of anchoring the mid-morning programme, frequently alongside Holly.
After the reported dissolution of their friendship, a number of candidates have been suggested to regularly replace Phillip on the This Morning sofa.
With the next season of the television competition still a few months away, the future of the celebrity duo as moderators of Dancing On Ice also appears to be in jeopardy.
Rochelle and Marvin Humes are presently the frontrunners to take over ITV, despite an ITV spokesperson’s assertion that no decisions have been made.
Rochelle has previously hosted episodes of This Morning, while Marvin has appeared as a guest presenter on the ITV programme Loose Women.
Since 2019, the Humes’ have co-hosted The Hit List, a BBC music quiz programme, and many bookmakers consider them the favourites to trade hit melodies for ice skates.
Rochelle is currently the 6/5 favourite to succeed Phillip on This Morning, while Marvin is a bit further down the list at 7/1.
An ITV spokesperson said: ‘Dancing On Ice isn’t due on ITV until January 2024 and the series is not currently in production.’
They added that ‘further announcements’ would be made in due course, including conformation of who will be presenting the ice skating performance next year.
Phillip’s future on Dancing On Ice is presently unknown, but ITV announced on Saturday that their ‘working relationship’ with him will continue on prime-time television.
‘We look forward to continuing our relationship with Phillip starting with The British Soap Awards in June and a brand new peak time series to come.’
Rochelle herself paid tribute to him, saying: ‘Thanks for all the lessons – you’re a fountain of love knowledge and laughter.’
