Penn Badgley from Gossip Girl and Come Dine With Me experienced the most improbable crossover imaginable, as he was introduced to one of the most iconic moments in British society.
Yep, we’re talking about that ‘What a sad little life, Jane’ moment.
For those who are unaware with the cultural connection, Come Dine With Me contestant Peter revealed in 2016 that his competition Jane had won the £1,000.
And he was furious about it.
He seethed: ‘You won Jane. Enjoy the money, I hope it makes you very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little life Jane.’
Not stopping there, he continued: ‘You ruined my night completely so you could have the money, but I hope now you spend it on getting some lessons in grace and decorum.
‘Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.’
Seven years later, the moment is still memorable.
It has now been given a Joe Goldberg makeover.
The You star was requested by BBC Radio 1 to give the monologue, and despite his confusion, he did his best.
‘Is this scripted?!’ he asked, before commenting that ‘No one in America would say that’.
He then couldn’t hold back the giggles watching the real version, adding: ‘I so much prefer your reality television’.
The clip has obviously sparked a lot of laughter, with one person writing: ‘Oh my god I didn’t know how much I needed to hear an American recite La Biblia de Come Dine With Me but here I am’.
Another penned: ‘I never thought I would hear penn badgley recite it honestly but I’m so happy I did.’
You is available to watch on Netflix.
