Our House shows the hidden drama of suburbia in ITV’s latest drama, based on the book by Louise Candlish – but where is it filmed?
The new four-parter comes to the broadcaster tonight and plays out over the next few nights.
Starring Martin Compston as Bram Lawson and Tuppence Middleton as his wife Fi Lawson, it tells the story of a family whose life is slowly turned upside-down when Bram makes a series of unforgivable errors.
Set on different timelines, Fi comes home one day to discover a new family moving into her home, which was never up for sale.
As she struggles to get hold of her estranged husband, it becomes apparent Bram has disappeared and left her to pick up the pieces, Fi realises the secrets and lies have only just begun.
It also stars Rupert Penry-Jones, Weruche Opia, Bronagh Waugh and Buket Komur, who all play vital roles as the story continues to unfold.
But with the home so central to the programme’s plot, here’s everything you need to know about where the ITV drama was filmed.
Where was Our House filmed?
According to the show’s producer Tom Mullens, it wasn’t a straightforward decision over where to film, as he recalled his search for the perfect location last year.
He said: ‘It was this time last year that we started our search on foot, lots of times, I got the steps up on my Fitbit, walking around London.
‘We searched all over London, north, south, east, west and funnily enough, we found a house in Dulwich overlooking Peckham Rye which in fact is not that far from where Louise had imagined the house when she wrote the book.
‘And I think we saw this house and all of us knew immediately that we had our perfect location.’
He went on to add: ‘Of course, it’s about the architecture but it’s an aspirational home but it also feels like a family home which is really important.
I guess there’s always other elements you’re looking at like the room dimensions, can you film in there, do you have the right sort of access but it was this magical double-fronted house which suited the show And, of course, after that, after we found the house, we could build our sets.
‘Most of the interior downstairs is a set but hopefully, nobody can see those joins.’
The show was also filmed partially in the Isle Of Sheppey, in Kent.
A family holiday sequence was shot at the beach in Leysdown-on-Sea in September, as well as at a privately-owned house nearby.
