Sarah Alexander, a sitcom star from the 1990s, defies time and looks exactly the same in her new West End show as she did when she first rose to prominence.
Sarah, 53, has stunned audiences as she appears to turn back time in the drama The Unfriend, which also stars Lee Mack.
Sarah seems barely a day older than when she first appeared on TV series in the 1990s, and she does not appear to have aged in the show about a couple who allow a widow they met on vacation to stay, only to learn she was convicted of murder.
Sarah has constantly worked as an actor since her debut on-screen appearance on The Bill, before being recognised for her appearances in comedies including Armstrong and Miller, Smack the Pony, and Coupling.
She also appeared in the successful Channel 4 sitcom Green Wing, featuring Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan, the BBC’s The Worst Week of My Life, and Alan Davies’ Jonathan Creek.
Sarah appeared as Hugh Grant’s lover in Bridget Jones’ Diary and in the fantasy adventure picture Stardust, which also starred Sienna Miller and Ricky Gervais.
Previously speaking Sarah said in her varied career she learned most from Ben Miller and Alexander Armstrong.
She explained: ‘I learned how to come up with characters quickly, to think on my feet and how to enjoy it. The secret of comedy is enjoying it. If you’re not laughing, it’s not going to be funny.’
Sarah also mentioned that her parents were initially concerned about her being an actor before she was cast in Smack the Pony and Coupling.
She said: ‘My dad was a TV director/producer and my parents knew out-of-work actors who’d turn up at the pub skint or come around for Sunday lunch and they probably didn’t want that life for their daughter.
‘I suppose when I was doing Smack The Pony and Coupling and didn’t stop working for a few years until I had the children they thought I was doing all right and could pay the bills.’
Sarah married fellow actor Peter Serafinowicz, 51, whom she met in 2002 and has acted in Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars, and John Wick.
The pair resides in West London and has a son and a daughter.
Vera Wang, 74, and Christie Brinkley, 70, are among the celebrities who appear to be in their prime.
Christie spoke about the wonders of ageing on her milestone birthday, writing on Instagram: ‘Looking in the mirror on my 70th Birthday and what do I see, I’m finally happy with the person looking back at me.
‘I’m no longer critical and demanding, now I’m grateful and understanding.’
