Nicole Scherzinger may have relocated to the United Kingdom, but it appears that no one has taken the time to teach the pronunciation of a very vital hobby.
The 45-year-old former Pussycat Doll got engaged to 37-year-old Scottish rugby player Thom Evans earlier this year.
The pair originally lived in Los Angeles, but recently migrated to London, where Nicole plays Norma Desmond in the West End production of Sunset Boulevard.
She released a series of videos two months ago showing her doing stereotypically British activities like sipping tea, standing in an iconic red telephone box, chewing on a Greggs pastry, and staring at an artwork of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
However, her next participation on Celebrity Gogglebox for Stand Up to Cancer may leave some people perplexed.
Nicole is shown seated on a couch with her fiancé in a preview clip for the programme.
After picking up a biscuit, she says: ‘The chocolate cornflakes with a nice cuppa….’
Looking somewhat confused, Thom turns to her and asks her to repeat herself: ‘Wait, how do you say cuppa?’
Nicole, clearly unaware of the small mispronunciation, says it like ‘coppa’ again before taking another drink of her tea, while her boyfriend laughs.
He then jokes she sounds ‘like Gary Barlow or something’.

As Nicole tries her best impression of the former X-Factor judge, Thom then jumps in and goes: ‘No, he does this…this is Gary Barlow. That was an absolutely fantastic audition.’
Other celebrity guests for the reality show’s charity special include Jeff and Bobby Brazier, Harry Hill and Tim Vine, Bob Mortimer and Richard Ayoade, Jennifer Saunders and her daughter, comedy writer and performer Beattie Edmondson, and actors Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters, and their children, Grace and Alfie.
Nicole announced her engagement to Thom in July, when he proposed on one knee on a trip to Portugal.
In the Instagram caption, she wrote: ‘I said yes.’
Scherzinger and Evans initially met on The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019, when Scherzinger was a judge and Evans was a contestant.
He was a member of the Try Star gang, which included fellow rugby players Levi Davis and Ben Foden.
Last month, she revealed that their wedding would be held in Hawaii and will be officiated by her grandpa.
