In a hilarious move, Netflix has issued a warning on a scene that has Richard Armitage’s horny character humping a pillow.
Based on the 1991 Josephine Hart novel Damage, the sexy new BDSM drama has everyone talking about an affair between William Farrow (Armitage) and Anna Barton (Charlie Murphy).
Even by Netflix’s standards, the graphic sex scenes are rather explicit, but in the second episode, William can’t help but hump a pillow that has Anna’s scent on it because it makes him feel so attracted to it.
Netflix has issued a warning to viewers who have made the “questionable” decision to watch Obsession with their parents by releasing the precise times when it would be a good idea to leave the room and start the kettle.
Naturally, the pillow moment and a few more shocking events that you shouldn’t discuss with your mother were present.
‘This is very useful, can all programmes come with this please?’ responded one fan while another said it was too much just watching with his wife.
Armitage admitted to Metro.co.uk that the pillow moment was actually an invented one.
‘It was really unexpected because it was written as quite a different scene,’ he said.
‘There was a tissue with her imprint of her lipstick on which we didn’t feel necessarily worked.
‘I was really conscious that it shouldn’t be in any way comedic so we sort of left it quite open and it was a bit of an improvisation actually.’
‘Charlie had – without me knowing – sprayed her scent that she’d been wearing throughout the shoot into different parts of the bed and I just got the sense of it, and that’s where the scene just opened,’ he continued.
‘But the recording it wasn’t too planned, actually.’
Obsession is available to stream on Netflix now.
