Stars of Motherland Diane Morgan and Anna Maxwell Martin tried to avoid scenes involving children in the hit BBC show.
The British sitcom focuses on middle-class parents and the everyday challenges they encounter as they raise their children.
Diane, 45, plays single-mum Liz and Anna, 44, plays Julia.
It almost goes without saying that a show about parenting would involve children, but nevertheless, the two actresses did their best to swerve them.
‘Me and Anna are always trying to work out ways we can avoid scenes with children,’ Diana, 45 told The Mirror.
She added that she has never wanted children herself due to the ‘pain, expense and hassle’.

Liz explained that she feels like her time on the programme justified her reasons.
‘Then I work on Motherland and feel vindicated. People say, “Yeah but who’ll look after you in your old age?” What? Are you only having kids to be your carers?’ she said.
Anna, who is married to Roger Michell and has two daughters, revealed that avoids watching Motherland with her children.
‘My kids hate Julia. They absolutely hate Motherland. They won’t watch it. It’s not funny for them,’ she explained.
She added that they hate seeing her stressed, which is why they don’t watch the programme.
Motherland has received widespread critical acclaim for its candid and amusing portrayal of the joys and tribulations of middle-class parenthood in London.
The witty comedy is now at the end of its third series.
Motherland can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
