Maya Jama has shut down rumours of a new romance and has insisted she’s ‘really, really, really single’.
The TV personality makes an appearance on this week’s Jonathan Ross Show – and during her chat is quizzed about possible relationships and after Chunkz laughed off romance rumours.
Unfortunately, Maya wasn’t up for any online dating or Zoom dates, and so brushed them off while she was in lockdown to enjoy the single life.
‘I didn’t Zoom date. I think a Zoom date is way more intense than a normal date,’ she said.
‘There’s no escape. You’re stuck. I didn’t do any dates.’
Since splitting with Stormzy last year, Maya’s love life has been put in the spotlight, and the 24-year-old millionaire admitted that she wasn’t quite here for it.
‘It’s a weird thing… Any time I take a picture with a guy when we’ve been working or doing a job, it’s “Oh my god we must be dating” this whole thing,’ she explained.
‘Anyone that’s single, [people put] two and two together, it’s like, no way could they be friends. It just gets awkward.’
‘In real life I’ve got 50% male friends, 50% women,’ she continued. ‘Do I not want to post my male friends just in case they’re going to be my “potential lover”? None of them are actually real.
‘I’m actually really, really, really single.’
Over the past year, Maya has been focusing on a new career path – and become an actress.
She’s had some success too – and appeared on Katherine Ryan’s Netflix series The Duchess earlier this year.
‘I’ve had a few auditions. Not successful though,’ she then added. ‘I auditioned for Will Farrell’s Eurovision film. He’s an icon to me.
‘They wanted me to play an Italian role. I’m not Italian at all.’
The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday at 9.30pm on ITV.
