It wouldn’t be the Great British Bake Off without a cake falling to the floor, and this time Jesy Nelson is the victim of the culinary horror.
The former Little Mix singer, 31, is one of 20 celebrities included in the new Stand Up To Cancer celebrity series, including Gemma Collins, Friends star David Schwimmer, and Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley.
In an exclusive preview footage released ahead of the show’s premiere, Jesy is quick to blame outgoing host Matt Lucas, 49, for her hard work collapsing.
In the tent, disaster strikes as the pop sensation attempts to balance what looks to be a meringue on a kebab stick in order to create the appearance that it is floating.
She seeks assistance from comedian Matt since she lacks confidence in herself.
‘How am I going to hold it up there while it keeps crashing through my roof?’ She inquires.
Giving her a metaphorical push, Matt replies: ‘Oh go on, give it a go. Let’s see.’
Jesy then gently places the meringue on top of the stick, which, astonishingly, stays in place… for a short time.
She gets a little carried away and starts to celebrate. ‘That was your luck!’ she exclaims. ‘It’s going to stay, it’s going to stay. Positive vibes!’
Nevertheless, Jesy’s masterpiece crashed to the floor seconds afterwards.
‘It’s all your fault!’ Jesy cries out, before snatching the toppled item out of Matt’s hands. ‘Give it back!’
‘How’s it my fault?’ he asks, innocently.
Ooops!
Matt’s final appearance in the tent will be this year’s Baking Off celebrity edition, before This Morning babe Alison Hammond takes over later this year.
Matt, the popular Channel 4 show’s star, left the show in December, claiming in a statement that he found it impossible to combine several responsibilities.
The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off returns on Sunday 19th March at 7.45pm on Channel 4.
