Frankie Muniz, star of Malcolm in the Middle, is leaving his child acting career to pursue his ‘goal’ of becoming a full-time NASCAR racer.
The 37-year-old rose to prominence in the 2000s sitcom, which starred Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad as his father and depicted a dysfunctional family living in an American suburb.
As a teenager, she appeared in films such as Big Fat Liar and Agent Cody Bank, and she has more recently appeared in The Black String and New Amsterdam.
Aside from performing, Frankie has participated in Dancing with the Stars and hosted the junior edition of the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off.
Despite his illustrious on-screen career, the Stuck on You actor’s true interest is motor racing, having drove the pace car for the 2001 Daytona 500.
He has since raced in a flood of competitions around the world, including fourteen races during the Formula BMW USA season.
On Thursday, the ex-actor announced that he has accepted a full-time job as a racer, uploading a video of his best moments in the driver’s seat throughout the years.
He wrote: ‘Finally making my dream a reality, this one is for my son and showing him that you can always chase your dreams.
‘Excited for this opportunity with Rette Jones Racing, Ford, and our partners to go full time racing for an ARCA National Series Championship in 2023.’
Frankie has had an amazing couple of years, having welcomed his first kid, newborn son Mauz, with wife Paige in March.
The adorable pair, who married in 2020, revealed their pregnancy with a touching video.
‘In the past four and a half years Paige and I have experienced so many incredible things together,’ the actor said in the clip.
‘We travelled the world and got to live out all these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
‘While we still believe it’s the little moments in between the big ones that make you feel happy, nothing quite compares to the first time you hear the little one’s heartbeat.’
