Love Island All Stars began with the return of some of the show’s iconic personalities, but not everyone was pleased with ITV’s choice.
Some viewers were rather critical of the selections available for the females, which included Toby Aromolaran, who had previously struggled to choose a single lady, Anton Danyluk, the man who sobbed over his love for Craig David, and Jake Cornish, the owner of the slogan ‘You’re my girlfriend’.
The male starting lineup was Luis Morrison, ‘Messy’ Mitchel Taylor, and Chris Taylor, with Callum Jones coming in at the conclusion of the show.
However, Chris was the only one who largely avoided criticism.
Viewer Ruby Naldrett remarked: ‘Chris is the only non-evil man in that villa. It’s looking bleak for the girlies.’
The statement immediately garnered likes, with almost 4,000 individuals agreeing.

The public matched the islanders, but before host Maya Jama unveiled the official partners, she asked the females who they wanted to be with. Chris, 33, was the most popular, with Hannah Elizabeth, Georgia Harrison, and Kaz Kamwi all choosing the alumni, who played a cameo in Barbie.
‘Chris having three women is so real cause he’s cute,’ wrote X user Mya.
While fellow Love Island fan Luke Collen can’t wait to see more comedic moments from the man of the hour: ‘Forgot how funny chris was omllll this is gonna be great.’
Demi Jones was also intrigued in Chris (who had previously been in her DMs), but she claimed that seeing so many others choose him convinced her to go with Luis. Fortunately for her, the public paired Chris and Demi, 25, together.

The episode also saw Jake, 26, and Liberty Poole, 24, reconcile after their split shortly before the final in 2021, which will undoubtedly lead to some awkward talks that we will see.
Jake responded to the public’s vote in an unexpected way: ‘I don’t detest the girl,’ he said.
Jake instantly understood that his choice of words might not have been the greatest, and prophesied that he would become a meme.
They weren’t the only exes for long, as 27-year-old Callum Jones visited the villa and Maya revealed that he planned to grab one of the females from the lads in front of him.
Before he could choose, however, she added: ‘Before you make your decision, there is one more all-star you could choose from.’
Callum’s ex, Molly Smith, whom he split from six months ago after three years together, then entered the villa, surprising the other islanders.
The other couples chosen by the public were Anton and Hannah, Luis and Georgia H, Mitch and Kaz, and Toby and Georgia Steele.
Some people hoped for a nice series, with some thanking the makers for the Callum and Molly surprise.
‘I actually think we’ve got a good season going here,’ wrote X account Katelynn Mensah. Fingers crossed!
Love Island continues tomorrow on ITV2 at 9pm.
