Former Love Island actress Abigail Rawlings has alleged that ITV officials advised her to ‘cover up’ after she broke a nudity regulation.
The tattoo artist first appeared on the reality dating show in 2021, when Millie Court and Liam Reardon were named king and queen of the villa.
Past Love Island participants have mentioned the regulations that everyone must follow in the villa, such as drink limitations and no wearing branded apparel unless given by sponsors.
They are also forbidden from being nude.
With cameras running around the clock for situations that need to be featured on the programme, everyone in the villa must dress correctly at all times when on the show, which led to Abigail being forced to cover up.
She revealed: ‘I think there was one clip that did get aired and it had Faye [Winter]’s boob in the background, in the mirror, as there were mirrors everywhere. I think I’m just like “blah, blah, blah” and here you could just see her boob in the mirror.’
The 28-year-old continued to the Daily Star: ‘But I do get it, I remember I was sat doing my makeup once and I had my towel and it just fell down a little bit.
‘It’s all girls so it doesn’t really matter but over the speaker they were like, “Abi, can you put your towel on properly please?”
‘And I was like, “Oops, sorry”.’
Additional conditions apparently include a prohibition on artificial tan and not knowing the time, according to previous participant Chloe Burrows.
While numerous Love Islanders have already left the villa, like season eight’s Liam Llewellyn, producers have also told individuals to leave for breaching the rules.
Malia Arkian, a Season 2 competitor, was sent out of the villa for violating the rules when she got into a physical confrontation with Kady McDermott.
Meanwhile, in 2019, Sherif Lanre was told to leave the Love Island house for ‘violating the island regulations’.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
