Love Island’s Hugo Hammond and Chuggs Wallis have a history – they are reportedly former love rivals and had a crush on the same girl at university.
Sports teacher Hugo, 22, and entrepreneur Chuggs, 23, both went to Oxford Brookes University.
Hugo allegedly thought of himself as a ‘BNOC’, or Big Name On Campus, while at the educational institution and he seemed concerned when he learned Chuggs would be joining the villa on Thursday, saying: ‘I know him.’
A source told The Sun: ‘Hugo and Chuggs knew each other through sport at uni – I think they were both interested in the same girl and went head to head on trying to date her.
‘That’s why Hugo was so nervous in the villa – it’s like history repeating itself.’
Love Island viewers were treated to the first dramatic recoupling of the series on Friday, with Chuggs and fellow contestant Brad McClelland’s fate being left in the balance after the pair were not picked.

It came after Chuggs and Liam Reardon joined the villa on Thursday and put in the graft getting to know the girls, who were doing the choosing in the evening’s recoupling.
However, as neither were picked, it will be down to new bombshell Rachel to decide who stays and who goes.
