Ruth Langsford of Loose Women was ‘horrified’ to see some parents go through their children’s belongings, including her co-star Linda Robson.
The ITV panel was debating snooping after Emily Atack, 33, said her mother discovered her’massive’ dildo while rummaging through her bedroom.
Ruth, who is married to Eamonn Holmes, was astonished to learn that The Inbetweeners actress’ mother had been ‘rooting’ through her drawers and claimed she would never do the same to her son Jack, 21.
Linda, 65, didn’t hold back when she admitted to reading her eldest daughter Lauren’s journal as a teenager.
Speaking about her son, Ruth said: ‘I’ve never looked in his room. I’ve never snooped.
‘If I thought that something seriously was wrong – if he became distant or isolated – I would try to talk to him first and if I was still getting nothing then I would unashamedly go [into his room].’
She continued: ‘But I would never go, “I’m just putting his washing away, just have a little look.” I’ve never done that.’
Turning to Linda, Ruth scolded: ‘I think it’s awful Linda Robson.’
‘Me too, I think it’s awful,’ Linda replied while bowing her head and giggling.
The Birds of Feather actress went on to admit: ‘I have three kids but I’ve only ever snooped on one. She knows.’
Linda revealed that she discovered her diary in her own bedroom cabinet, and Lauren was enraged.
She said it was a “terrible thing to do,” but she “couldn’t help myself.”
‘I’m very nosey. I’m a curtain twitcher,’ Linda added.
