A woman who was abandoned as a baby in a cardboard box near a hospital learned of a half-sister who was also a foundling in an emotional episode of Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace.
Helen, who had hoped to discover more about the circumstances surrounding her birth, was stunned when she found out that not only had her birth mother been identified but a half-sister had also been found through a partial DNA match.
Helen had described how ‘hard’ she found it ‘to not know anything at all’ about her origins, despite the loving home she found through adoption.
As presenter Davina McCall revealed what the team was able to trace, telling Helen of her half-sister Jess, who is just 14 months older than her, Helen broke down.
When it was explained that Jess also didn’t grow up with their birth mother because she was also a foundling, Helen was stunned.
She exclaimed: ‘Oh my God! You’re joking? Oh no!
