In the lead-up to Sunday’s Line of Duty series six finale, there’s one question that’s on everyone’s lips – who is the mysterious bent copper ‘H’?
Speculation has been rife ever since original AC-12 crew Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Superintendent Ted Hastings discovered that there was a fourth corrupt police officer hiding in the shadows, referred to by the gaffer as ‘The Fourth Man’.
There are some people who believe it will be the stone-cold Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin), while others believe there’s still potential that Marcus Thurwell (James Nesbitt) will come out of the woodwork.
With Alison Hammond confirming that the elusive ‘H’ will be appearing on This Morning on Monday, fans have taken part in a poll to share their views on the conundrum.
In a poll of 1,232 Line Of Duty viewers, YouGov discovered that the majority of the respondents believe Chief Constable Philip Osborne (Owen Teale) will be the bent copper in question, receiving 22% of the votes.
Patricia came in second with 19% of the votes, while 8% thought that ‘H’ will turn out to be someone else not mentioned in the options.

Next came Hastings and Deputy Chief Constable Andrea Wise (Elizabeth Rider), who each received 6% of the votes.
They were followed by Thurwell and former Police and Crime Commissioner Rohan Sindwhani (Ace Bhatti), each receiving 4% of the votes, and then the seemingly straight-laced Kate with 3%.
Kate’s colleague DS Chris Lomax (Perry Fitzpatrick) also received 3% of the votes, while Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald), Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle) and Steve each received 2% of the votes.
With almost a fifth of the participants saying they don’t have a clue, it could go in any direction!
Line of Duty star Martin recently teased that the finale is going to be ‘chaos’, adding that there is a possibility this could mark the final episode of the crime drama.
‘There’s a lot of chaos coming this Sunday,’ he said. ‘A lot of big answers coming. I think it’s deserved, people have stuck with us for such a long time there comes a point when the natural story arc is coming to an end.’
He continued: ‘We’re in a situation where it’s not entirely clear that there will be a seventh series,’ he explained.
Line of Duty returns on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
