Liam Neeson was left ‘unimpressed’ after his recent interview on The View, over the ‘embarrassing’ topics.
The Taken star came on the ABC show on February 15 to promote his latest picture, Marlowe, alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin.
The 70-year-old said that he hadn’t been on the programme in a long time, to which Joy responded, ‘We talk about you so often I feel like you’ve been here.’
‘You talk about him so much,’ Ana Navarro commented, while Alyssa Farah Griffin joked, ‘Joy wants to be taken by you.’
They also persuaded the Hollywood celebrity to add ‘hearts’ to the Valentine’s Day cards he gave them behind the scenes.
Sunny then revealed more about her coworker’s enthusiasm for him, saying, ‘It’s no secret that Joy thinks you’re the hottest and greatest ever.’
After a video montage of the presenter mentioning the action star’s name on the show, he quipped, ‘By the way, you received the cheques?’
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Liam confessed that he wasn’t satisfied with how things went with the actors and expected a different approach.
‘I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great. They’re talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it’s an American problem,’ he said.
‘I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion. And then our segment starts and it’s just all this BS with Joy and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I’ve known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn’t impressed.
‘I’m uncomfortable in those situations. One of the ladies [Sunny] is a prosecutor and we had a little chat afterward and it was a good, intelligent conversation, but then the segment’s all about this 13, 14-year-old crush.
‘It’s just a bit embarrassing.’
Liam has returned to the big screen in Marlowe, starring with Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, and Alan Cumming.
His 100th picture saw him take on the character of famed gloomy detective Philip Marlowe, who is recruited to investigate a disappearance.
The official synopsis reads: ‘Detective Phillip Marlowe becomes embroiled in an investigation with a wealthy family in Bay City, California after a beautiful blonde hires him to find her former lover.’
