Kim Kardashian appeared to be at her breaking point as tensions with ex-husband Kanye West escalated in the season three premiere of Kardashians.
The six-year marriage between the former couple, who share the children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, officially ended in February 2021.
Since then, the 45-year-old Gold Digger rapper has called out the 42-year-old Skims designer on social media and taunted her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson throughout their nine-month relationship.
In an unexpected move, he married architectural designer Bianca Censori in a private ceremony earlier this year, and has kept much of their relationship under secrecy.
Although the mother of four swore to never criticise him in public, she appeared to reach her breaking point in the first episode of the new series, alleging that his actions caused a psoriasis flare-up.
In a later scene, she revealed to a concerned Kris Jenner that she suffered a “anxiety attack” in the morning and spent the majority of the day on the precipice of weeping.
‘Even through all of the craziness, of everything Kanye says about us, I never comment. I never post. He has made up the most insane narrative about you, and the [sex] tape. We stay silent. Through all the lies, through all of the stuff,’ she said.
When her mom explained that she ‘can’t control’ someone else and that musician is ‘doing this to himself’, Kim suggested that that his public ‘shenanigans’ will be more damaging to their children than anything she has done herself, including her sex tape with Ray J.
Becoming emotional, she continued: ‘I have to sit here and not say anything ever, because I know, one day, that my kids will appreciate that [through tears]. I know that is the best thing for them.
‘I’m the one where, s**t could be going down and I get in the car every day and the kids want to blast dad’s music, and I’m like, “He’s the best!” And I put it on and we’re singing along, and inside I’m dying.
‘I will be his biggest cheerleader to them forever, and one day they’ll see for themselves, I’ll answer whatever they want me to.’
She also complained that Kanye, who was supposed to be her ‘forever protector,’ is inflicting the most damage by spreading false rumours and accusing her of multiple indiscretions.
‘He is the one that started a rumor that said I was hooking up with Drake, having an affair, our whole marriage he accused me of that, publicly,’ she ranted.
‘The person that is supposed to protect me the most, publicly would accuse me of having an affair, throughout our whole marriage.
‘I really can’t wrap my head around how he thinks he is a protector.’
It was then that Kim broke down in tears, begging for everyone around her to ‘get their s**t together’ so that she can have a bad day and let herself be overwhelmed.
‘I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to be a part of this narrative. When is this ever going to end? It never will,’ she sobbed.
‘I’m stuck with this for the rest of my life.’
She also claimed, while speaking to the camera, that Kanye demanded ‘approval’ for any mention of him on the Kardashians, but did not extend her the same courtesy for his tracks or social media postings.
‘It’s just always so intense, I don’t want to engage in a public feud with him but I feel like I have to do something, especially when it involves other people, and it hurts other people,’ she cried. ‘Hurt me, just keep it with me…
‘I don’t want to talk about this anymore.’
The Kardashians airs on Hulu in the US and is available to stream on Disney+ in the UK.
