Josie Gibson recently fueled rumours that she is in a relationship, but she has officially ruled out dating for the time being in order to spend as much time as possible with her kid.
Last month, while filming a project in Paris, the former Big Brother winner shared a series of images with ITV cameraman Sam Morter.
One specific image showing Josie, 37, holding hands with her colleague caused many to assume she was hard-launching her new romance, but shortly after she had to backtrack and admitted ‘things had got out of hand’.
Josie said on Loose Women on Friday that the joke didn’t seem to fall as planned, and that dating was far from her thoughts at the time.
‘I thought everybody would get the joke, but you shouldn’t joke on social media because some people don’t get it,’ she said.
‘I was with our camera man Sam and we spent so much time together…I love him and I’m like a proud aunty, he’s a good camera man but I am not his girlfriend and I am still single.’
She added: ‘I couldn’t pull a cracker.’
When asked if she was seeing anybody else, Josie stated that her four-year-old son Reggie was the only guy in her life at the time.
‘Where would I fit him [a boyfriend] in because I’m either at work or I’m looking after my little boy, and the thing is I am only doing this [being a mum] once, so if I date somebody that is time I take away from my little boy,’ she explained.
‘I want to spend as much time with him as humanly possible.’
She added: ‘When I’m in a relationship I am a bit selfish and want them to give me their all and if I can’t give that back, it would be unfair on them as well.’
While Josie stated that “the time will come” to resume dating, she preferred Reggie to be a little older.
‘Like 18 or something,’ she laughed.
Josie divorced Reggie’s father Terry, with whom she had been acquainted for around 20 years, in 2020.
While the TV personality previously revealed that she was ‘devastated’ that her ideal family unit did not come together, she also fallen that she adored being a mother and would have loved a complete football team’s worth of children if she had begun sooner.
She explained: ‘I would have had 10! I really love being a mum, it’s just amazing.’
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
