Jodie Turner-Smith truly enjoys seeing Joshua Jackson’s sex scenes as he acts in the most steamy role of his career to date – the Fatal Attraction TV revival.
Joshua co-stars with Mean Girls superstar Lizzie Caplan, who replaces Glenn Close as ‘bunny boiler’ Alex Forrest, and the two had some rather heated moments together.
Some people would run a mile if they saw their lover writhing about the bedroom with someone else, but not Queen & Slim’s Jodie.
‘Jodie is not fussed about my sex scenes. The sex scenes themselves, Jodie kind of enjoys them, actually,’ the Dawson’s Creek star told Variety.
‘It’s a weird thing where she’s like a voyeur. So that works! If that’s your thing — excellent.’
The personal moments in Fatal Attraction, on the other hand, are there to ‘advance the story’ for Josh.
‘You have to believe that these people want to f*** each other,’ he said.
Caplan told Metro.co.uk that she and Josh ‘know the appropriate degree of kidding around necessary to make an extremely uncomfortable scenario somewhat less awkward’ when discussing the love.
She also discussed working with an intimacy coordinator, which she describes as a “new non-negotiable thing.”
‘I think that for actors like Josh [Jackson] and myself who have been doing scenes like that since well before intimacy coordinators, at first it’s like adding a new step to a process that you can feel like you have actually down pretty well. So it’s a period of adjustment,’ she said.
‘Our intimacy coordinator on this was amazing and it just requires a lot more conversation around things. But I know a lot of actors that find it frustrating and find the transition into this new way of doing things frustrating, but it’s important to remember that it’s not for the people on the poster of the movie, it’s for the people who don’t feel like they can stand up for themselves or slow things down even or they just want to be a team player.’
Fatal Attraction is available to stream on Paramount Plus from May 1.
