Holly Willoughby is unsure who she can trust after secret compensation details for her new Netflix programme was exposed, according to reports.
The 43-year-old former This Morning host is said to have earned £1 million for presenting a survival reality series alongside Bear Grylls.
However, Netflix was alleged to be’really angry’ that her pay stub was made public since they are ‘very stringent’ about confidentiality.
Holly is now claimed to feel’very betrayed’ that her pay were made public since she does ‘not want to break her bridges so early.’
The series, which has the working title Bear Hunt, is a significant job for the host, who took a vacation from the spotlight after leaving This Morning.
A source told Heat: ‘Just as Holly thought everything was getting back on track, she feels very betrayed again over the stories about Netflix being upset over her wages being made public.
‘This is such a big deal for her and she wants to do more work for them, so the last thing she would want to do is burn her bridges so early.
‘It’s embarrassing and upsetting that a story like this has come out when she wants to be trusted and seen as a big asset to Netflix. She’s not one to discuss money and is always professional.’
A source told The Mirror: ‘Netflix is really strict about leaks and anything ahead of schedule.
‘They had a meeting and brought up Holly’s new series, and said they were really upset about how it was leaked and there were so many varying reports about how much she had been paid to do the show. It just isn’t its style.
‘Netflix recruits credible talent – and to have potential earnings in the public domain wasn’t what it had expected.’
The Netflix show will see Holly spend a chunk of time filming in Central America which has reportedly left her ‘torn’ over spending time with her children.
The TV personality is married to producer Dan Baldwin and has three children: 14-year-old son Harry, 12-year-old daughter Belle, and 8-year-old Chester.
‘Holly will naturally miss her children and husband when she is away – she had lived in a lovely bubble with them while she took time off work. So it will be hard being away,’ a source said.
The insider continued to OK!: ‘Like so many mums, she feels that mum guilt as she tries to juggle family life with her TV career.
‘It’s something she’s spoken about openly in the past – and she also wants to show other mums that she is just the same, she feels it too.
‘But she knows that, ultimately, she is setting a good example to her little ones by being a working mum.’
The Wylde Moon founder’s new Netflix programme has sparked interest from the BBC, and ITV is reportedly offered her a lucrative contract to stay with the channel.
