The official trailer for the new terror anthology series Them is scaring the bejeezus out of everyone.
The upcoming 10-part drama from breakout creator Little Marvin, with Lena Waithe serving as an executive producer, is set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video next month – and it looks set to be truly chilling.
Them is a limited anthology series that explores terror in America and its first season is set in the 1950s, focussing on a Black family who moves from North Carolina to an all-white Los Angeles neighbourhood during the period known as The Great Migration.
The family’s idyllic home becomes ground zero where malevolent forces, next-door and otherworldly, threaten to taunt, ravage and destroy them.
The two-minute teaser, which features racist Black minstrels and a young child being snatched through the back of a wardrobe, has already got viewers completely terrified, signalling that this won’t be one to watch alone.
‘It’s so good I can’t look away then I’m scared as hell!!!!’ wrote one.
‘This looks scary as hell,’ penned another, as a third gasped: ‘Holy crap – I have chills.’
Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: ‘Coolcoolcool so I’ll be watching this during the daytime. I get nightmares too easily.’
Them stars Ashley Thomas aka Bashy, American Horror Story’s Alison Pill, and Us actress Shahadi Wright Joseph, and it’s already been renewed for a second season.
‘What I can say is that it’s a different time and a different place every season’, Marvin teased.
‘What will stay absolutely the same is that we will take folks who have largely historically been marginalised, who have never populated the center of the frame and put those folks front and center and their own stories of American terror.’
He added to Deadline: ‘So new story, new people every year, but that similar theme throughout.’
Them launches on Friday 9 April on Amazon Prime Video.
