Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are reportedly being asked to ‘tone down’ the use of innuendos on This Morning as more kids tune in to watch the show during lockdown.
The presenters are well-known for their random outbursts of laughter on the ITV programme, especially when they are filming a ‘cheeky’ segment.
According to reports, bosses will be scrapping ‘saucy’ interviews because more children are watching the breakfast show after coronavirus forced schools to shut.
Some of the more risque features they have aired in the past include life-size sex dolls and the famous gran Iris Jones, 81,m who told Holly and Phillip that she and her toyboy love used a ‘whole tub of KY jelly’ in a night.
‘Before lockdown, producers could explore adult themes safe in the knowledge the majority of kids would be in class,’ a source explained.
‘Now most of them are back home and This Morning doesn’t want to run the risk of upsetting any mums and dads.’
‘They aren’t going to avoid important subjects but they will make sure nothing is too explicit,’ they added to The Sun.
Earlier this month, Boris Johnson announced another national lockdown for England, which included shutting schools and colleges.
Both primary and secondary schools closed immediately and were forced to move to online learning for all pupils, except children of key workers and the most vulnerable.
It came as an abrupt U-turn just weeks after the Prime Minister promised schools would reopen.
Schools are expected to be closed until at least mid February.
This Morning airs daily at 10am on ITV.
