Hayden Christensen has revealed what it was like to see Ewan McGregor don his Jedi robes again after 17 years on the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi, saying it was a ‘special moment’.
The upcoming Star Wars series on Disney Plus will see Hayden reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker from the prequel trilogy, with the character going on to become the dreaded Darth Vader first seen in the original movie.
There is a lot of mounting anticipation for the show, with the trailer showing a glimpse of Obi-Wan keeping an eye on a young Luke Skywalker while the youngster was being raised on Tatooine.
In a new interview, Hayden, 40, said that it was ‘amazing’ to put his iconic costume back on, describing it as a ‘great honour’.
While he couldn’t go into too much detail ‘in terms of behind-the-scenes type stuff’, he did disclose how it felt to see Ewan, 51, back as the wise Jedi Master Obi-Wan after almost two decades.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: ‘I can tell you the first time that I saw Ewan as Obi-Wan again, that was a very special moment for me and one that I’ll remember for a very, very long time.’
