Jason Isaacs’ characteristic sneer and violent demeanour as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise terrified youngsters all over the world.
However, the actor morphs into his current TV character, looking unrecognisable as he assumes the demeanour of a real-life Hollywood legend.
Isaacs, 60, has a long list of memorable performances, including Captain Hook in Peter Pan and appearances in Black Hawk Down, The Death of Stalin, Nine Lives, and Star Trek: Discovery.
He is now preparing to reveal his depiction of the one and only Cary Grant in Archie, an ITVX series that explores the English-American actor’s life and career trajectory.
Grant, who was born Archibald Alec Leach in January 1904, was considered as one of Hollywood’s best leading men during his time, appearing in films such as An Affair to Remember, To Catch a Thief, and Bringing Up Baby.
The late actor, who died in 1986 at the age of 82, had a debonair swagger as well as superb comic abilities that distinguished him as a performer.
Archie will have four episodes of 60 minutes each.
The series was created with the approval of Grant’s daughter, Jennifer Grant, and his ex-wife, Dyan Cannon, who act as executive producers.
The show, which will air on ITVX in November, will cover Grant’s life from his childhood in Bristol, where he lived in terrible poverty.
The actor had adversity in his life, seeing his father’s infidelity and losing his elder sibling.
Grant chose to apply for a musical hall performance when he was 14 years old, which led to him learning the skill of stilt walking and touring the United States.
He stayed in the United States to try to get into show business, and he jumped at the chance to perform after meeting comedian George Burns, just before using the name Cary Grant.
Archie will flash back to Grant’s earlier years to when he was at the pinnacle of his career, living in luxury but battling in his personal life after multiple unsuccessful marriages.
Grant has Jennifer Grant with his ex-wife Dyan Cannon, with whom he was married from 1965 to 1968.
Archie will air on ITVX this November.
