Next Level Chef, Gordon Ramsay‘s competitive culinary program, has apparently been cancelled after one season.
The eight-part series featured 12 budding chefs as they competed for a £100,000 reward and a year of mentoring from the Hell’s Kitchen star and his colleagues judges, Paul Ainsworth and Nyesha Arrington.
The kitchen is divided into three levels, with each location putting the participants’ culinary inventiveness, agility, flair, and competence to the test as they compete to advance to the Next Level.
The cooks were guided by specialists Gordon, Paul, and Nyesha during the duration of the show as they competed for a £100,000 reward.
However, according to rumours, the golden three will not be returning for another season.
A source shared: ‘Gordon is highly competitive and he’s gutted the series wasn’t given a second run.’
‘These types of shows always take a while to get going and for viewers to connect, so he thinks it wasn’t really given a proper chance,’ they added to The Sun.
This comes after the Kitchen Nightmares host hit back at Lord Alan Sugar for claiming his show Future Food Stars ‘ripped off’ The Apprentice.
‘He had something, which was like, I don’t know how the lawyers allowed it because it was a virtual rip-off of The Apprentice. No disrespect to Gordon but stick to your day job mate that’s all I would say,’ the tycoon said.
Ramsay later hit back, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘The guy is a Lord for a reason, so if he’s gonna spank my arse he’s allowed to,’ before jokingly offering his competitor a guest judging role on the show.
He’s now blasted Lord Sugar’s claims again, saying that any suggestion Future Food Stars is a ‘rip-off’ is ‘absolute b******s’ and he should stop ‘b****ing’.
