The medical professional added: ‘So many assaults go unreported because the people who care about our population, they’re not the kind of people who want to take it further, but for everybody else it doesn’t send the right signals out.
‘If [Whitty] had fought back his career would be on the line, there would be a court case, and who knows, he might lose that role.’

‘Perhaps Chris Whitty does need to say, “I will prosecute, not for myself but because I have a responsibility”,’ he said.
In yesterday’s episode Martin recalled a similar terrifying incident of being harassed in the street when he declined to speak to a stranger while out with his young daughter.
