It’s no secret that Squid Game: The Challenge has captivated Netflix watchers since the first episodes debuted last month.
The gameshow, based on the massively famous Korean drama, aired on Netflix last month and introduced us to 456 competitors as they competed for $4.56 million.
We’ve all been waiting for the conclusion, which airs on Wednesday, but many are sure that some of the participants recently revealed who won the first series.
Ashley Tolbert, or Player 278, raised eyebrows when she claimed that finalist Sam Lantz, also known as Player 016, took certain celebrities to a day at Disneyland.
Taking to Twitter, she penned: ‘Sam treated Phalisia and I to a day at Disneyland.. it was sooo magical and chill. Beautiful weather! [sic].’
Although Ashley may very well be teasing us all, fans instantly questioned whether she had unwittingly ruined the fact that Sam had won the competition and had used his prize money for the treat.
‘Could of just said “the winner” [sic],’ one replied.
Another questioned: ‘Are you subtly telling us Sam won the 4.5?’
‘Girl I know you did not just spoil it,’ a fan said, before urging: ‘Delete this before Netflix gets you.’
‘Omg I think this spoiled the winner,’ a Twitter user agreed.
Phalisia, as Player 229, joined in on the festivities, claiming Sam had whisked them away to Louis Vuitton for a wonderful shopping excursion.

Alongside a video of the competitor in front of the shop – which, again, could be a massive prank – she wrote: ‘It was so much fun! But when we all stopped in Louis Vuitton, so many bags! GIIIIRRRRLLLL #SquidGameTheChallenge.’
Player 016 advanced to the finals with Players 287 and 451, aka Mai Whelan and Phill Cain, respectively, with the final episode premiering this week on Netflix.
The episodes have concentrated on the physical and psychological games that the contestants are subjected to, as well as challenges from the original drama.
However, executives revealed that stunt doubles were utilised for one infamous game in which competitors fell from a 20-foot tower.
In Glass Bridge, the stars took turns crossing the bridge by walking on panes of glass, with some plunging through the glass – and down a massive drop – if they chose the wrong option.
While we were witnessing some of our favourites take the plunge, it turns out that the work wasn’t as terrible as the cameras made it appear, since stunt doubles were called in at the last minute to shoot every autumn.
‘The fall itself was done by a professional stunt person for the safety of the players,’ John Hay, executive producer, told EW. ‘Obviously, that’s paramount for us. There was a large airbag underneath, but that also needs to be done by professionals.
‘The order of the pattern of the [glass squares], which is a pass and which is a fail, is all predetermined before they’ve stepped on the bridge.
‘And their reactions and their peers’ reactions to stepping on a fail door and being eliminated are all real. And then, at the last minute, we swapped them out, and a stunt person did the fall.’
Squid Game: The Challenge is available to stream on Netflix now, with the finale dropping on December 6.
