A new Netflix thriller based on a best-selling book by Harlan Coben has fans counting down the days before it hits theatres.
Fool Me Once is an upcoming British eight-part television series based on the same-named 2016 Coben book.
The cast includes Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Adeel Akhtar, and Joanna Lumley.
Maya Stern (Michelle) is struggling to come to terms with the terrible death of her husband, Joe (Richard) in the narrative.
However, when Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep a check on her little kid, she is surprised to find a guy she remembers in her home – her husband, whom she assumed was dead.
Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce (Adeel Akhtar) is leading the homicide investigation into Joe’s death while dealing with his own problems.
Meanwhile, Maya’s niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, are attempting to uncover the truth about their mother’s murder, which occurred many months earlier, and discover whether the two cases are linked.
Joanna portrays Joe’s watchful mother, Judith Burkett.
The clip was published on Thursday, and many have already marked their calendars to watch.
‘Can’t wait for this,’ several people commented on social media.
‘This looks so good,’ someone else wrote.
Many others said they were hooked already by the ‘interesting’ plot.
‘Harlen Coben always delivers’ someone else wrote.
This is the newest adaptation of the American author’s multi-million-dollar contract with the streaming service.
Signed in 2018, the agreement called for 14 of Coben’s novels to be adapted into original Netflix series or films, with Coben serving as executive producer on all projects.
The Stranger, based on his novel of the same name, was the first title published under the agreement, premiering in January 2020.
Fool Me Once is the deal’s second novel to be adapted in English; however, earlier projects like as The Woods, The Innocent, and Gone for Good have been released in Polish, Spanish, and French.
When this series was announced the author teased that the story was ‘a pulse-pounder’ and a ‘shocking story of how secrets and deceit have the power to bring people together while simultaneously tearing them apart’.
Fool Me Once is streaming from January 1 on Netflix.
