Big Brother icon Brian Dowling and his husband Arthur Gourounlian are set to welcome their second child, adding to their beautiful family.
Having previously won the second season of Big Brother UK and hosted the show on Channel 5, Brian became a father when they welcomed their first child, daughter Blake, in 2022.
Now, with their daughter Blake soon to become a big sister, the couple joyfully announced the arrival of Baby Dowling Gourounlian Number 2 this Summer on Instagram.
In an endearing post featuring photos of Blake wearing a ‘promoted to big sister’ jumper, Brian expressed their excitement for the new addition to their family.
He shared, ‘We @gourounlian are so thrilled about the upcoming arrival of Baby Dowling Gourounlian Number 2! We feel incredibly blessed and lucky as parents to expand our family. Blake is going to be the BEST BIG SISTER EVER.’
In the adorable photos, Blake looks charming in peach tones, topped with an oversized bow as she grins radiantly.
Brian and Arthur became parents to Blake in September 2022 with the help of Brian’s sister Aoife, who acted as a surrogate for the couple.
Their heartwarming journey was documented in a revealing RTE documentary titled ‘Brian and Arthur’s Very Modern Family,’ offering an intimate look into their lives.
Despite their joyous news, Brian and Arthur have faced hurtful homophobia for raising their daughter, with Brian addressing some malicious messages on Instagram shortly after Blake’s birth.
Emphasizing his stance against hate, Brian shared, “Messages like this make me sad but also so very angry. @gourounlian and I receive such messages rather frequently. Love will always prevail, despite such attempts to bring us down.”
The reality star commended his sister Aoife for her crucial role in their family journey, highlighting her as an ‘absolutely incredible human.’
Married for seven years, Brian and Arthur had kept their baby plans private initially, revealing their pregnancy in May 2022 before welcoming their child later that year.
Rising to fame by winning Big Brother in 2001 and subsequently winning Ultimate Big Brother, Brian later hosted the show on Channel 5. His journey with Big Brother marked a significant chapter in his career, leading to further hosting opportunities in the entertainment industry.
