Bobby Brazier of EastEnders has officially joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing 2023!
The 20-year-old has been revealed as part of the line-up for this year’s battle on the BBC programme, after the announcements of former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach and Paralympic champion Jody Cundy.
Bobby, who plays Freddie Slater on the soap, said: ‘I’m so excited to be part of the Strictly line up, I can’t wait to start training like a professional dancer and adding a few moves to my locker.
‘I’m looking forward to performing in-front of everyone, it’s going to be so much fun!’
The actor, the son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody and TV personality Jeff Brazier, first appeared in EastEnders in 2022.
He’s also had a successful modelling career, working with companies such as Dolce & Gabbana, for whom he walked the runway during Milan Fashion Week.
Bobby has a younger brother, Freddy, who was born a year later. Jade, their mother, died of cervical cancer in 2009.
He took up the part of Freddie in EastEnders after twins Alex and Tom Kilby portrayed the character between 2004 and 2006.
Little Mo Slater (Kacey Ainsworth) is Freddie’s father, and other family members include Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), Big Mo (Laila Morse), Charlie Slater (Derek Martin), and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
Bobby’s casting on Strictly was announced on BBC Breakfast, with the 20-year-old grinning as he was introduced on camera.
