Former EastEnders star Nigel Harman is allegedly one of the celebrities who will appear on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
In 2022, celebrity cameraman-turned-dancer Hamza Yassin and his professional partner Jowita Przystal won the long-running ballroom tournament.
Naturally, with the next series only two months away, speculation about the 2023 lineup has begun, with many well-known personalities in the running.
An I’m A Celeb winner, a TV chef, a Waterloo Road and Emmerdale actor, and a contentious former This Morning host are among those set to appear.
On the BBC soap, Nigel, 49, portrayed Dennis Rickman. His character was killed off in 2006 when he was stabbed and died in Sharon’s (Letitia Dean) arms on New Year’s Day.
And it appears like Nigel is preparing for the flashy challenge this autumn.
A source shared: ‘He is among the first to confirm and he turns 50 this summer so it is a challenge of his own, too.’
The insider added to Mail Online: ‘The line-up is going to be a great mix.’
Nigel isn’t the only serial star who has been connected to this year’s competition; former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas is also tipped to make his Strictly debut.
He’s no stranger to the event and its substance, having previously demonstrated his distinct sense of humour by joking that despite being married, he wanted to suffer its fabled curse.
The ‘Strictly curse’ refers to celebrities who become romantically involved with their professional dancing partners.
The Sun reported that he said: ‘Bring it all on. I love a bit of glitz and glam.
‘I just want to experience the Strictly curse.’
When Adam, 34, married his long-term girlfriend Caroline Daly in 2017, he was clearly kidding. Elsie-Rose, five, and Teddy, eight, are the couple’s children, and Teddy plays his son Tommy on Waterloo Road.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
